Events Highlights

Since our launch, the Cape Town Volleyball Federation has grown from strength to strength — we’re platforming rising talent, unforgettable rallies, and community-driven energy.

Here’s a look back at where we’ve been, and the moments that got the crowd buzzing.

Women Empowerment Workshop (2023)

Hosted by the CTVF Executive Committee, this empowering workshop brought together approximately 20 participants. The event aimed to:


– Build leadership capacity among women involved in sport
– Identify and nurture future female leaders
– Provide advice, mentorship, and support
– Raise awareness of Gender-Based Violence and promote women’s rights

Century City Sports Day Festival (2024 & 2025)

CTVF was honored to participate in the 15th Annual Century City Sports Day Festival in 2024, with a special return invitation in 2025.

CTVF proudly hosted the MEC for the opening ceremony, including the ceremonial serve to open the volleyball segment. The festival featured our top 4 senior teams and U19 teams for both males and females, showcasing high-level talent and youth engagement.

Beach Unity Tournaments (2024 & 2025)

Held at Clifton Beach in March 2024 and April 2025, these tournaments were designed to welcome and engage foreign players visiting Cape Town. The events served as a cultural and competitive exchange platform to promote unity through volleyball.

Referees Clinic with FIVB Referee Tania Lewis (2024)

In March 2024, CTVF hosted a Referees Clinic facilitated by international FIVB Referee Tania Lewis. This initiative resulted in 21 registered members being accredited with CTVF Level 1 certification. Additionally, 9 individuals were earmarked for VSA Level 1 Certification, enhancing the technical standards within the federation.

Annual Youth Day Tournament

Hosted annually around June 16th, this tournament is a key developmental event aimed at U15 and U19 players. It celebrates youth potential, providing an inclusive platform for competitive growth and talent identification.

Annual Women’s Day Tournament

Held on or near August 9th, this tournament is fully organized and executed by women, to honor the role of women in sport. It aims to empower women in volleyball by giving them leadership roles and celebrating their contributions on and off the court.

Annual Awards Ceremony (Since 2022)

Launched in 2022, the Annual Awards Ceremony has become a significant tradition within the CTVF calendar. Thanks to the ongoing dedication and commitment of the CTVF Executive and Administration, this event celebrates outstanding achievements in the volleyball community. It honors players, coaches, referees, and volunteers who have demonstrated excellence, leadership, and sportsmanship throughout the season
